Take your first steps into Etching and Printmaking with this introductory course. You will explore basic techniques and styles through a process of demonstration and practical lessons.
What can students expect?
This short course aims to introduce you to various aspects of etching & printmaking and familiarise you to some techniques and styles. You will also learn about basic equipment and terminology. Each session will include practical workshop activities so you can practice and review your work. By the end of the course you will be able to make an informed choice if you wish to continue studying etching and/or printmaking, and you will create a small project.
Late starters allowed?
Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills required
You will need to be able to understand both written and verbal information and instructions in English. The tutor will explain any specialist terms used.
This is a non-accredited course. You will be assessed as part of normal classroom activities. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss your performance with your tutor.

Other Etching, Printmaking or Art courses at BAEC and elsewhenre (wide choice available, the tutor will advise on progression).
Are there any extra costs?
The course fee does not include the cost of materials used - approximately £25 to £40 over the length of the course, dependent on individual project chosen. Please bring any etching tools you may have and wear old clothes or bring an overall. The tutor will discuss the course requirements at the first session. Most materials can be purchased from the tutor.
