This course is a great way to start cooking with fish and producing a different fish supper each week with either an accompaniment or simple dessert. An ingredients/small equipment list will be sent out prior to the start of the course.
What can students expect?
You will learn more about fish - how to store, prepare and cook it. We will also cover how some fish dishes can be frozen.
Late starters allowed?
Yes, with the agreement of the tutor.
Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills required
You will need to be able to measure ingredients accurately and be able to understand both written and verbal instructions and information in English. The tutor will explain any specialist terms used.
This is an all levels course.
There will be continuous assessment by observation and questions and answers. Your tutor will give you regular feedback on your progress throughout the course.

To other cookery courses at BAEC and other colleges.
Are there any extra costs?
The cost of ingredients is not included in the course fee. You will be expected to provide your own ingredients each week.
Are there any set books?
Work set between sessions?
In order to fully benefit from this course, it is advisable to practice the skills learnt between sessions.
A recipe sheet with ingredients/small equipment list will be sent out prior to the start of the class. Please bring all ingredients/small equipment listed as well as an apron, two tea towels,a small sharp knife and containers to take your prepared food home in.
A demonstration of the fish dish by the tutor will occur each week. Questions and answers, observation, individual 1-1 help where required.
