Description

Straightforward tasty food for the weekend. The recipes covered are suitable whether you are entertaining or just having a quiet weekend. An ingredients/small equipment list will be sent before to the start of the course.

What can students expect?

You will have the opportunity to cook two recipes each week(apart from week 1) which you can take home to either cook or reheat.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, with the agreement of the tutor.

Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills required

You will need to be able to understand both written and oral instructions and information in English and be able to measure ingredients accurately and complete simple calculations. The tutor will explain any specialist terms used.

There will be ongoing assessment throughout the course and the tutor will provide regular feedback on your progress.

The cost of ingredients is not included in the course fee. You will be expected to provide your own ingredients each week.

In order to fully benefit from this course, it is advisable to practise the skills learnt between sessions.

Equipment Required

An ingredients / small equipment list will be sent out prior to the start of the course. Please bring all ingredients and equipment listed on the sheet as well as an apron, a tea towel, a small, sharp knife and containers to take your prepared food home.

Teaching method/style?

A demonstration by the tutor of the main recipe will occur each week, the other recipe will be verbally explained. A practical course with a mix of demonstration, 1-1 tuition, questions and answers and observation.
