Description

A masterclass designed for anyone with an interest in baking. The course will cover both savoury and sweet aspects of baking and will include working with yeast, pastry making and cake making. There is a requirements list for this course.

What can students expect?

You will learn how to use yeast to make a savoury bread, to make pastry and how to roll it out and use to fill a tart and how to make a cake.

Literacy, Language and Numeracy skills required

You will need basic literacy, language and numeracy skills to attend this course, in order to read recipes, follow instructions and measure accurately. The tutor will explain any specialist terms used.

This is an all levels course.

You will be assessed throughout the course by observation, questioning and answers. Your tutor will give you regular feedback on your progress throughout the course.

Equipment Required

Recipes will be sent out prior to the start of the course together with a small equipment and requirements list. Please bring an apron, a small, sharp knife, a tea towel and containers to transport your food items home.
