What the course is about

<p>During this course you will receive both group and individual support in order to help you learn more about Qi Gong and using breathing techniques to support your wellbeing and mobility. Qi Gong is made up of body posture, movement and breathing. It is a mind/body exercise or ‘moving meditation’ allowing you to relax while gently improving balance, fitness and wellbeing. The movements are easy to learn, very slow and gentle and suitable for all regardless of your physical make up. We will also examine the stress response in detail. Understanding what happens when we get stressed and how to deal with it in the short term along with mid and longer-term practices to build resilience. We will investigate different types of breathing as practice both seated and standing meditation. In a relaxed environment, this course can help you to improve your:</p>

<p>Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people. Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience. This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course. </p>

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>Anyone is welcome to join and learn the skills in this subject, but you will need to be fit and well enough to take part in the activities.</p>
