What the course is about

Develop your existing vocabulary and improve your ability to communicate effectively in conversation.
You will consolidate your understanding of Spanish culture and vocabulary and increase your confidence and ability to speak and understand the language.
You will take part in group discussions and conversations and look at appropriate level films and television.

The topics covered may include:

• Eating out and speciality foods
• Spanish culture and history
• Key grammar and tenses
• Medical and health issues
• Music, films and television
• Travel, tourism and leisure activities


You will develop your language skills, which will boost your confidence if travelling abroad.
Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community.

Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

Practice at home is advisable to enhance your learning experience.

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

Your tutor will work with you to develop an Individual Learning Plan and review your progress against this throughout the length of the course.

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

You will have completed a beginners - Step 2 course (or equivalent) and have a basic knowledge of the subject.

You will need a notebook and pen.

Next Step

After completing Beginners - Step 3, you will have gained enough basic knowledge to enable you to continue learning on Spanish Intermediate - Step 1.
