What the course is about
You will further develop skills in sentence structure and grammar used in BSL and increase your range of vocabulary for describing people and animals; rooms in home and at work; leisure activities and food and drink.
These sessions offer an avenue for creative pursuits, improving your health and well-being. The friendly classroom environment is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.
Practice at home is advisable to enhance your learning experience.
This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams
Your tutor will work with you to develop an Individual Learning Plan and review your progress against this throughout the length of the course.
There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.
Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
You will have completed a Step 1 course (or equivalent) and have basic knowledge of the subject.
Materials and costs
You will need a notebook and pen.

<br><b>Concessions:</b> a 50% concession on all courses starting with ‘PL’ may be obtained if you are in possession of an Access to Leisure & Learning Card or can provide evidence of eligible benefits

<br><b>Proof of identity:</b> please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session.
<br><b>Home study:</b> you may be required to do some study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.
<br><b>Off-site activities:</b> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
<br><b>Parking at Centres:</b> parking at centres may be limited, please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
