What the course is about

This course follows on from Step 1 and is set at a suitable pace for the group. The four main areas of practice and development are:

• Improvement in the recognition of the more complex lip formations of the words we speak
• Investigation into more advanced ways to aid understanding speech while in groups, using positional tactics
• Technological improvements for people with hearing loss and how they work
• Understanding the environmental impacts on hearing and speech recognition

This course offers you the chance to get to know how to communicate using the skill of lip reading, thus increasing your inclusion in the community and keeping you in touch with friends old and new.

You could increase your social inclusion and local community participation.
The friendly classroom environment is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.
