Course description

This session will cover the causes and effects of stress. During the course you will look at how to recognise and deal with stress, and some ways to protect yourself from its effects.

The course includes a short workbook to complete during the session and take home afterwards.

Course outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:
• Identify at least 4 common causes of stress
• List at least 6 effects of stress on our physical and emotional wellbeing
• Outline a process for dealing with a stressful time
• Describe at least 4 things you can do to protect yourself from some of the harmful effects of stress

Is this course suitable for me?

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to know more about handling stress, particularly in the area of employability skills

What do I need to bring?

A pen, and a smartphone if you have one

How will I learn?

Through a combination of formal instruction, group discussion and individual written work

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

The tutor will observe participation in course activities and completion of the workbook during the session

What qualification will I get?

This is a non-accredited course and therefore no qualification will be obtained
