Course description

This short course will assist in establishing if caring is of interest to you as a career opportunity and help to understand some of the key aspects in the type of work involved, identifying possible areas and roles that may appeal as your entry to this sector. The session will cover the care ‘values’ and ‘principles’, duty of care requirements, and equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Course outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

State what caring involves and the different types of roles in caring
Explain 3 skills needed in caring for the elderly, those with disabilities and children
Give 2 examples of how to ensure dignity in caring
Define what safeguarding in caring means

This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in working in the care industry. No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required for you to register for this course.
