Description

A friendly, supportive and structured course that will help you develop your acrylic painting skills. Led by an experienced tutor, you will gain a broad grounding in the use of acrylics. <span style="font-weight: bold;">This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will transfer online if necessary using ZOOM and WhatsApp.

What can students expect?

You will learn colour mixing, how to apply paint, what equipment, paints, brushes and canvases you need. With tutor led demonstrations, advice and guidance, you will learn how to paint landscapes, seascapes and still life. <span style="font-weight: bold;">This course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will transfer online if necessary using ZOOM and WhatsApp.

Late starters allowed?

Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2.

Previous experience required?

Suitable for beginners and those who have already completed a beginners' course.

What is the progression route?

To join another acrylics course.

Are there any extra costs?

The fee includes some materials; tutor will advise you on what to buy during 1st session.

What should students bring?

• As much of the equipment listed below in the Equipment Required box as you have already. Tutor will advise you
during 1st session. Please make sure you have some paints, brushes and paper/board/canvass to work with
• An apron or old shirt to protect your clothes
• Two water containers (jam jar or large yogurt pot)
• Masking-tape or drawing clips or bull-dog clips
Stable internet connection, a tablet or PC and ability to use ZOOM if course has to transfer online.

• Acrylic paint-you can buy a set of mixed acyclic paint in a box to start with
• If you wish to buy individual paints the following are what you need. Titanium white, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, cerlean blue, ultramarine blue, burnt umber, raw umber, payne's grey, veridian green, hookers green and cadmium yellow
• Set of brushes, small round various sizes, 4,6 and 8. Filbert, large flat, fan brush, and a rigger brush.
• A palette knife
• J-Cloth or kitchen roll
• Mixing palette or white plate
• Canvas board, acrylic paper or some canvases
