What can students expect?

Painting copies from other artists is a tried and tested way to further your knowledge and improve your painting skills, besides which it is great fun too. During this workshop you will look at John Singer Sargent’s portrait of Claude Monet, painted in 1887. The tutor will guide you through the technical aspects that went into the creation of the original including drawing, tone values and colour mixing. This is a course for people with a little bit of painting experience and is not recommended for beginners. At the end of the day, you will take home your finished version of this great portrait painting. This workshop will take place at Stoke Lodge.
