The total charge is £140. The full (undiscounted) tuition fee for this course is £140, the concession rate is £84. Please note that concession rates are subject to proof of eligibility.

Description

Continue learning the best card game ever! Refresh and build up your knowledge of bidding (Standard English Acol system) and improve your play as declarer and defender.

What can students expect?

Bridge is a a game for two partnerships at each table, but you do not need a partner to join the class. In class you will learn through demonstration by the tutor, quiz / exercises and practice cardplay. You will play with other class members at your table, so some turn taking may be needed.

Late starters allowed?

It is possible to join late but please contact the tutor to be sure you are at a similar level to the rest of the group. The tutor can be contacted at: bridgeclassbristol@gmail.com

Previous experience required?

You should ideally have some prior knowledge of playing bridge. This could be from a previous course of two or three terms (at beginner level) or previous / past experience. If you are unsure, then please contact the tutor.

What is the progression route?

You can continue on to the next term to continue learning.

Are there any extra costs?

Recommended book and reference material around £30. For personal safety, you may like to have your own bidding box and cards - optional purchase via tutor within the first few weeks of course. Some additional material may be available online for additional optional costs.

Work set between sessions?

The recommended text book / workbook has reading and set exercises, consistent with lesson content.

What should students bring?

Pen and paper.

Teaching method/style?

Screen presentations of topics / theory / quizzes and demonstrations of card play. Card play at each table to practice each new topic.
