An introduction into the wonderful world of willow: learn the basic techniques to create two beautiful items.
Week 1: Create a Catalan tension tray
Week 2 & 3: Weave a rustic berry basket
Maximum number of participants: 8
Deadline for enrolment: 1 week before the course takes place.

What can students expect?

To learn the creative potential of willow, how to source it, how to prepare it, the different types and what works best for what project.
This is a practical course where you will make a catalan tension tray in week 1 and a berry basket in weeks 2 & 3.
Aimed at beginners or improvers, you will learn the basic techniques for basket weaving

What is the progression route?

Further willow workshops to develop skills in all aspects of willow weaving

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. Willow material costs payable to the tutor on the first session: 20 per student

What should students bring?

Materials Fee 20; secateurs, stanley knife, old clothing or an apron, as willow is bent and shaped against the body and this can sometimes be messy.

Teaching method/style?

Practical, demonstration then guided step by step practical application.
