Description

Whether you’re a committed vegetarian or just want to enjoy an occasional meat-free meal, you are welcome to join us for this demonstration course. See how to prepare a range of delicious vegetarian dishes and sample the results. We will share ideas and information about the various benefits of vegetarian food whilst you watch the tutor produce tasty food from straightforward recipes which might include: vegetable risotto, spicy chick peas, bean burgers, pasta sauces, and the use of grains such as quinoa and pearl barley.
Please note that recipes may include use of nuts or dairy produce or ingredients containing gluten, and therefore please advise the admin office at the point of enrolment if you are allergic to any ingredients.
A demonstration course, with some opportunity for hands-on participation. There is an additional ingredients cost, usually between £4 - £6, payable to the tutor for each session.

What can students expect?

To observe the tutor cook a variety of vegetarian dishes.
Group discussion to exchange ideas and information.
Printed recipes are provided.
Learners are invited to assist the tutor with simple preparation tasks, such as grating and chopping.

Unfortunately facilities do not allow the full preparation and cooking of dishes by learners.

What is the aim of the course and who is it for?
To inspire attendees to try new vegetarian dishes.

Anyone with an interest in food and cooking can attend.

Previous experience required?

Some basic cooking knowledge would be useful

Are there any extra costs?

Yes. There is an additional ingredients cost, usually between £4 - £6, payable to the tutor for each session.

Work set between sessions?

Learners are encouraged to try to cook the dishes at home
