Description

You will learn basic sewing machine skills and techniques to help you make fashionable and stylish clothes and furnishings. You will also learn to read a pattern and discover some of the essential hand stitches needed to finish off your project. All abilities welcome.

What can students expect?

Learners can expect tuition on using a sewing machine, hand stitching, pressing and pattern reading.

Late starters allowed?

Yes

Equipment Required

Equipment is supplied but learners will be encouraged to build up a supply of various sewing implements. Advice will be given.

Previous experience required?

No

What is the progression route?

Learners will progress from a pin cushion to an article of choice.

Are there any extra costs?

Yes.
There will be a charge of 1.00 to go towards the cost of a pin cushion payable directly to the tutor at the first session.

Work set between sessions?

Yes. Learners will be encouraged to progress with garment at home if possible.

What should students bring?

Learners are expected to bring along a piece of fabric, 15 cms by 30 cms.
