Description

Is Social Media a complete mystery to you? Are you terrified by tweets and horrified by hashtags? Donít feel left out. In this informal workshop your concerns and fears will be addressed, making social media both enjoyable and useful.

What can students expect?

Learners will find out how to capture their relevant audience/customers. The aim of the course is to banish any fears learners may have about using social media.
The tutor will cover an overview of various social media platforms but for the workshop, itself, Twitter is a good vehicle to demonstrate language and terminology as there is some overlapping with other sites

Previous experience required?

Yes - This workshop is not suitable for those without any experience of computers

Are there any extra costs?

No

What should students bring?

Prior to the workshop, learners do need to set up a Twitter account, as follows:

https://support.twitter.com/articles/100990

Suggest learners use a memorable name (name of business if relevant) with very few numbers, dashes or hyphens

Replace the silhouette icon with a photo/image, as follows:

http://www.dummies.com/business/marketing/social-media-marketing/how-to-upload-your-photo-to-twitter/

Suggest all learners bring any business cards and flyers (if available) to share with the group

Teaching method/style?

Informal, discussion-led. Open to questions and suggestions throughout the day.
