Description
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><span style="color:black">This course will enable you to design and make your own stained-glass piece of art. Suitable for beginners. Fee includes classroom sundries; learners can purchase coloured glass, lead and solder from the tutor or from a local supplier.</span></span><strong> </strong></span></p>

What can students expect?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Beginners will be guided through all the stages involved in making a simple small leaded or copperfoil panel, from design through to cutting, leading or foiling, soldering and finishing techniques. <span style="background-color:#fbfbfc"><span style="color:black"> Improvers will also be accommodated</span></span> and can plan individual projects with tutor support and learn new techniques. </span></span></p>

Late starters allowed?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Yes, but this is a short course, so it is best to join by week 2. </span></span></p>
Previous experience required?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">This is a Beginners course but <span style="background-color:#fbfbfc">improvers wanting to gain more experience will also be accommodated.</span></span></span></p>
What is the progression route?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">You can continue with another course in the same class to develop your skills in design and making and also participate in the Summer School. </span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">After 3 terms of beginners courses you can progress onto the Intermediate level.</span></span></p>
Are there any extra costs?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Yes. You can purchase coloured glass and lead from your tutor or your local stained-glass suppliers. Materials costs may vary depending on the scale of your project, but for an A4 sized panel you can expect to pay £25 approx.</span></span></p>
Work set between sessions?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Students can continue their studies between classes researching on the internet or working on developing sketches and designs. They can also order materials from a local supplier if they want to buy their glass directly. There is no homework set specifically.</span></span></p>
What should students bring?

<li><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="color:black; font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Two or three different ideas- these could be pictures, original doodles or sketches, postcards, pictures from magazines, photos, art books anything to act as a starting point for your design</span></span></li>

Teaching method/style?
<p><span style="font-size:12px"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">Formal teaching and demonstrations. One to one tutor support and learning checks and group discussions, books, photos and samples for study.</span></span></p>
