Drawing - Absolute Beginners

Ever wanted to learn how to draw? This course is for you! Led by experienced tutors, you will learn to draw using pencil, charcoal and rubbers. The course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move online if necessary. The online platform used will be Zoom.

Drawing Figures in Motion

Photographs enable us to draw dynamic poses that a life-model couldn't possibly hold, especially fast movement poses. You will learn to draw figures, their shape and proportions, the sense of movement. This course will be delivered online using Zoom and Google Classroom.

Drawing Skills - Mixed Ability

Drawing Techniques - Beginners

Enjoy this friendly, encouraging class where you will learn how to build up a range of drawing techniques, step by step, via exercises and projects.

Drawing Techniques Spring School

Enjoy learning various techniques to draw people-firstly body parts i.e. hands, feet, eyes, ears, hair. Then on the second day students will draw a clothed model and learn how to measure using rule of thumb, and deal with optical illusions.

Drawing Techniques Summer School 2021

The focus will be Elements of Landscape-different styles of drawing; mark making for sketching; simple techniques to draw trees; colour mixing and matching for skies; composition and arial perspective for spatial depth. We will work both inside and outside.

Life Drawing - Mixed Ability

Drawing from a nude model, you will learn to see shape, proportion, light and shade more objectively. Model fee of £27 for the course to be paid to the tutor during first session. The course will be delivered at Stoke Lodge but will move online if necessary. The online platform used will be Zoom

Oil Painting - Mixed Ability

Painting Portraits From Photographs - Mixed Ability

Learn about structure of faces, the fall of light and shade and how to mix flesh colours. Course N14J will be delivered online. Printmaking

During the first sessions a number of techniques are introduced. Learners are then encouraged to develop more extended projects, through discussion with the tutor. These courses take place at the St Paul’s Learning and Family Centre

This course is suitable for experienced artists/students who would like opportunities to receive feedback and discuss their work with an experienced and supportive mentor. This course will be delivered both online and will include 1 hour individual tutorial face to face (time to be arranged).
