What is this course about?

This course will develop an understanding of how different organisations operate, across both the public and private sectors. It will also equip students with the basic numerical skills needed in the workplace, and in life outside work. On completion of this qualification, students will also have gained an understanding of the ways in which businesses process sales and purchases and the documentation and procedures used to move goods and services between businesses.

Who is this course for?

You must be be aged 19 or older by the 31st of August 2021 who need to boost and build confidence in employability skills and are interested in a role which requires business skills.

Are there any entry requirements?

You should complete an Initial Assessment which shows you are working towards Level 1 in English and have Entry 3 Maths skills.

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

Yes. You will have a short online or on-site interview with a tutor.

How will I be taught?

The course will be blended learning so you will attend lessons on site at Wood Green Library 2nd Floor but you will also build your skills in online study with support from your tutor.

What feedback will I get?

You will get feedback from your tutor on your written and online work as well as feedback in the class. You will complete progress checks to assess your learning through the course and you will have a final tutorial at the end of the course to discuss your progress and next steps.

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

You will have a learner rep and you will be given opportunities to share your views in an end of course survey.

What course can I do next?

You will discuss with your tutor the next steps, but you may progress onto further professional Accounting and Bookkeeping qualifications.

Additional information

Although the course will have on-site sessions at Wood Green Library, a smartphone, tablet or laptop with a good internet connection is recommended for in between study or online sessions.

Assessment Method

Your tutor will check your progress throughout the course. You will complete 3 mandatory units and will take an AAT assessment at the end of the course.

Equipment Required

You will need a folder and paper and a pen. It is also recommended that you have a smartphone or other internet enabled device. If you do not have access to this, you should discuss this with your tutor at interview.
