What is this course about?
This is an online creative workshop programme which explores the art of storytelling. Over the 6 workshops, you will create an original piece of writing about a memorable event from your life.
Who is this course for?
This course is for people who want to develop their writing skills and learn techniques to help write creatively.
Are there any entry requirements?
You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2020. There is no required level of written English to attend this course but you must be able to understand and follow discussions in English and express your ideas on paper.
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
You will be asked to have an online interview with the course tutor to find out more about your aims in doing the course.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught online through video discussions and activities on Microsoft Teams and submit work either via email or our learning platform Edmodo.
What feedback will I get?
Your tutor will give you verbal feedback as a group during the session and feedback on your writing throughout the course.
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
You will be able to formally record your views on the course at the end by completing an evaluation form. You may also complete ESFA and OFSTED surveys.
What course can I do next?
You may like to do a Functional Skills English course or further courses in creative writing after this course.
You will need to download the free software for MS Teams and Edmodo to your device in order to complete the course. As this course will build and develop your skills, you should be ready to commit to all sessions.
The tutor will observe your activities and give feedback on your written work.
You will need to have a tablet or laptop with internet to follow this course and submit writing. You may follow this course on a smartphone although a larger screen although you should discuss this with the tutor at interview.
