Furlough HALS Help
The Furlough Scheme will be coming to an end on the 30 September. It can be hard finding a new job in a tough job market, but HALS is here to help.
If you have recently been made redundant, are unemployed or trying to skill up to get a better job, there is a course for you at HALS. We have a number of courses to skill up, retrain and adapt to a changing job market.
Below are courses to help you skill up or retrain. Following Covid, the job market is tougher and employers are recruiting by skills (especially digital skills), so the more skills you have, the more opportunities will come your way.
Access Award in Business Skills (starts 21 September, good for people re-skilling, or who want to go into accounts)
Get Online for Business (starts 21 September, crucial digital skills for small businesses or self-employed)
Employability workshops (various dates) in partnership with IAPT and Shaw Trust. Supportive online employability programme specifically for those with mental health or confidence barriers to work.
English Skills Higher (starts 28 September, brush up your spoken and written English)
Maths Non Calculator Skills (starts 29 September, a 4 week course for anyone needing a maths makeover)
Award in Volunteering (starts 5 October, intensive grounding for anyone who wants to get the most out of volunteering as a way into work, or becoming more involved in their community)
