What is this course about?

<p>This course is primarily aimed at ESOL learners who want to develop a career in early years in either self-employed roles or in paid employment. It provides a career pathway. Learners complete a CACHE Level 1 portfolio. It covers vocational and child related jargon/vocabulary, health and safety, setting up activities, safeguarding and tax compliance.</p>

Who is this course for?

<p>You must be aged 19 or older by the 31st of August 2023, and be eligible for publicly funded  courses. </p>

Are there any entry requirements?

<p>Yes, to enrol on this course you must be able to complete assignments at Level 1, which is equivalent to GCSE grade D-E. You will need to complete a writing task to evidence Level 1 writing skills.</p>

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

<p>No, you will not need to have an interview before you enrol if you have an Entry 3 qualification in writing or a Level 1 or above qualification.</p>

How will I be taught?

<p>You will be accessing the ESOL classroom either face to face or via MS Teams for Education – where you will be taught using a range of methods including : Whole class – teacher delivery Independent assignments and homework Small group work Video, You Tube and other media Quizzes and assessment</p>

What feedback will I get?

<p>You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course. Your tutor will give you verbal feedback as a group during the session, and written feedback on any written exercises you do. You will decide individual learning goals with your tutor and see your progress over the term by keeping a folder of work. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made.</p>

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

<p>You will be able to talk to your tutor in one to one meetings about your learning. Your tutor will ask for your feedback as a group at different times over the course and you will also contribute to the course review. You will be able to formally record your views on the course at the end by completing an evaluation form. Other ways to give feedback include via your class representatives elected in class, through the online platform, MS Teams. You may also be asked to complete ESFA & OFSTED surveys.</p>

Additional information

<p>It is very important for you to attend all of your classes. However, if you are unable to attend a class, please discuss this with your tutor. If you do not attend classes during the first week of the course or you do not attend three classes in a row, you may lose your place on the course.</p>

Assessment Method

<p>There will be regular on course assessment by both the tutor and your peers. Your homework will be assessed and the tutor will give you either written or verbal feedback to support your progress. It is important that you complete homework on time.</p>

Equipment Required

<p>Pencil, pens, dictionary, a folder, a laptop or PC and access to the internet. You will need to download and install the free software to enable you to access MS Teams.</p>
