What is this course about?
<p>This course develops entry level maths skills, both with and without a calculator, to solve problems in daily maths contexts.</p>
Who is this course for?
<p>This online course is aimed at adults who wish to develop maths skills in order to take the Maths Entry Level accreditation</p>
Are there any entry requirements?
<p>You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2024, and complete an Initial Assessment which identifies Entry Level Maths needs. You will also need to have Entry 2 or above English language skills for maths problem solving tasks at this level.</p>
Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?
<p>You will have a short online interview with a tutor.</p>
How will I be taught?
<p>You will be taught through online videos, quizzes and interactive sessions.</p>
What feedback will I get?
<p>You will receive feedback through our online platform 'Edmodo' and through regular quizzes and submitted work.</p>
How will I be able to give my views on the course?
<p>You will be able to communicate with your tutor and to share views with class representatives. You will also be able to formally record your views on the course at the end by completing an evaluation form. You may also complete ESFA & OFSTED surveys.</p>
What course can I do next?
<p>Progression: You will be encouraged to enrol onto a course working towards Level 1 or to undertake paid or voluntary work</p>
Additional information
<p>This course will be taught using the online platforms 'Edmodo' and 'MS Teams'. These are free and we will guide you through downloading and installing on your device. It is very important for you to access your classes regularly. If you are unable to access a class, please notify your tutor. If you do not access classes during the first week or fail to access two consecutive classes without informing your tutor, you may lose your place of study.</p>
Assessment Method
<p>You will be assessed through quizzes and diagnostic & formative assessments during the course. It is important that you complete all assignments which are set. Some quizzes will be automatically marked and tutors will give feedback on others.</p>
Equipment Required
<p>Pencil, pens, calculator, ruler, compass and folder. You will need a computer, smartphone or tablet with internet access.</p>
