What is this course about?

<p>This short online Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life introduces learners to the principles of safeguarding within the field of education including the possible safeguarding issues with modern technology. It provides key information for professional standards in the workplace regarding safeguarding.</p>

Who is this course for?

<p>You must be aged 19 and over by the 31st of August 2023 and be eligible for publicly funded courses, who are interested in employment within the education sector. It is also useful for parents, carers or for people interested in how to live safely in the current climate.</p>

Are there any entry requirements?

<p>You should complete an Initial Assessment which shows you are working towards Level 1 in English.</p>

Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

<p>New learners will l have a short online or on-site interview with a tutor. Current learners may be referred.<br />
</p>

How will I be taught?

<p>The course will be online so you will attend tutorials with the tutor but you will also be expected to access and study the elearning package in between tutorials.<br />
</p>

What feedback will I get?

<p>You will get feedback from your tutor on class discussions. You will complete quizzes and progress checks with immediate feedback to assess your learning through the course.</p>

How will I be able to give my views on the course?

<p>You will have a learner rep and you will be given opportunities to share your views in an end of course survey<br />

<p>A smartphone, tablet or laptop with a good internet connection is required for in between study and online sessions.<br />

Assessment Method

<p>You will complete an online assessment at the end of the course. This will normally be scheduled to be carried out at HALS on 2nd Floor of Wood Green Library.<br />

<p>You will need a folder and paper and a pen as well as a device to access the elearning and a good internet connection.</p>
