What the course is about
This course is for anyone who may already be familiar with and cooking vegan or vegetarian recipes or interested in trying out some vegan recipes and knowing a little bit more about plant based options and substitutes. This course is being delivered on line. Your vegan chef will talk you through how easy, quick and simples meals can be made with plant based ingredients. You will have recipes sent to you to follow during the week to cook at home with store cupboard ingredients. You will have the opportunity to discuss and share your own recipes with the other participants and learn about the health benefits.
Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
Participants should have attended the "Introduction to healthy plant-based eating" before attending this classes, or have basic knowledge/experience of plant-based cooking and nutrition.
Materials required
You will be cooking the recipes at home from your own store cupboard ingredients wherever possible. If there is an ingredient missing your tutor will discuss suitable alternatives you may have or on the odd occasion you may need to purchase an ingredient
Assessments, tests, exams
Initial assessment to be completed during the first and last session to measure learning and progress and an end of course evaluation survey
At the end of the course
Learners will be able to continue to support their learning by enrolling onto courses to increase their skills in the workplace, take a functional skills assessment to gain further qualifications in Maths, English and ICT or enjoy one of the arts & crafts, practical skills or movement, health and well-being courses and workshops either for themselves or together with their children
