What the course is about

There will be an initial introduction to the practical side of things e.g. setting the camera, dealing with the public and how to be discreet. We will also look at how other photographers have interpreted these genres. In the following weeks we will meet at the 'hotspots' such as Camden Lock, suitable for putting into practice ideas discussed earlier. We share results and discuss ways forward.
Themes such as colour and black and white, slow and fast shutterspeeds, contrast and narrative are considered.

Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

The course is suitable for all photography skill levels and for all types of digital cameras from compact to DSLR. There will be something for everyone.

Equipment Required

DSLR Camera is required although you can borrow one from the school.

Materials required

You will need some sort of portable memory. If you have the software, you may bring your own laptop, however, it is not necessary. Also examples of what you may have taken so far.

At the end of the course

The aim of the course is to develop your eye for the moment, give you full confidence technically and a love of how these images capture the magic of London and beyond
