What the course is about

183 million people use eBay, where else could you search that many products and display your items to such a huge market, for pennies . The activities and real time shadowing involved in this course will help you to gain the knowledge you will need to be able to get the most out of eBay, whether you are buying, selling, or a bit of both.

Your experienced tutor will show you how to find expert help on the eBay website, how to list , using keywords and descriptions that will optimise your selling potential. You will also learn how to search for items similar to yours, to assist in your pricing and listing when selling. You will also learn how to use the Advanced search option to assist you if you are looking to buy something unusual.

Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.

Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.

Pre-course information session or interview

It is vital that you have good IT skills to join this course. You need to be able to search the internet, use a mouse and a keyboard. If you already have an eBay account , or PayPal account, you will need to have your username and password handy.

You will also need to know how to log in to your email account (with your password) when on a computer that is not your home computer.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

There is no exam or qualification with this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is for IT literate individuals who would like to venture into the world of Buying and Selling on the world’s biggest auction site.

For week one you will only need to bring a pen and notepaper. To get the best out of the course, from week two you can bring an item to sell, to give you the experience under the supervision of the tutor.
