What the course is about

<p>During this course you will be able to learn basic tap-dancing steps building these up each week to create a routine.</p>

<p>Each week will include<br />
• Warmups concentrating on leg and feet muscles<br />
• Learning and practicing a series of basic tap steps<br />
• Developing a routine to music<br />
• Cool down and stretches </p>

<p>Tap dancing benefits general fitness, balance, musicality and rhythm.</p>

<p><br />
This course offers an avenue for creative pursuits, improving your health and wellbeing. </p>

<p>Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.</p>

<p> <br />
This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course. </p>

<p>There are no pre-course information sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.</p>

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

<p>Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.</p>

<p>There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.<br />

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

<p>As this is a beginners course, no previous experience is required.</p>

Materials and costs

<p>Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a drink of water. </p>

<p>Tap shoes are preferred but if you don&#039;t have any initially, please wear smooth soled shoes rather than trainers.<br />

Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner and you will not be eligible to a refund it its outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.<br />

<strong>Fully funded learners:</strong> if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.<br />

<strong>Home study:</strong> you may be required to do some study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.<br />

<strong>Off-site activities:</strong> with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.<br />

<strong>Parking at Centres:</strong> parking at centres may be limited, please be prepared to use on street parking or pay and display car parks.
