We are open for applications for maths classes at all levels to suit people of all abilities, interests, and ambitions. Courses will start in February 2022. If you are interested in developing your skills please apply for a place by using the link and we will contact you in January 2022.

Course details

Maths skills are essential for daily life activities, further study and important to many employers. Our courses take learners from basic levels progressing to more advanced Functional Skills level 2 and GCSE qualifications.<p><br></p><p>If you are new to our Maths courses applying for a place on one of our courses is your first step to enrolling.&nbsp; You will receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application and a teacher will contact you early in January before our next courses start.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>At this time you will be invited in for a short session where we can assess your existing maths skills and give you information and guidance regarding the appropriate courses we can offer you.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>We will have course opportunities at different levels in the daytime and in the evening and once you have accepted your offer you will be automatically enrolled on to the appropriate course with no further paperwork.</p><p><br></p><p>We will continue to follow COVID guidance and are currently continuing to advise you to wear a face mask so please bring one with you.</p><p>Please make sure you bring your ID with you to the session.<br></p><p>If you have any difficulty in applying please call Students Services who will be able to talk you through the process 01902 551658</p>

What are the benefits of this course?

<font face="Helvetica, sans-serif">The benefits&nbsp;of developing your&nbsp;maths skills is the difference they can make to your everyday life.&nbsp; You will be able look after your finances, use them in cooking, decorating, gardening!&nbsp;&nbsp;</font><p><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif">Maths skills are also very important to some job roles so gaining qualifications can make you more work ready and support promotions.<br></font></p><p><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif">You will also be given a Microsoft Office 365 email account with access to MS Office programs, so you will be developing your digital skills too.</font></p><p><br></p><p></p><p></p>

How will I learn?

Classes are currently face-to-face mode in a classroom setting with some opportunities for online sessions as homework.&nbsp; Lessons are interactive with lots of different activities to help you learn, remember and apply your skills and there will be plenty of opportunity to practice mock exams before your exam date.<p>We also offer additional sessions if you feel you need a little extra explanation of practice of just need quiet time to keep up if you have a busy home life.</p>

How will my progress be monitored and assessed?

You will have regular progress review meetings with your teacher and this will be recorded in your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to keep you focused and on track with your developments. Once you have covered all of the necessary maths topics, your teacher will start to prepare you for sitting the exam using mock papers under exam conditions.

Are there any additional costs?

<span style="font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;">Maths courses are free if you have not already achieved a GSCE in Maths at grade 4 to 9 or C to A*</span>

What qualification will I get?

Some of our courses help you to develop your skills and prepare to go on a qualification courses so there will be no qualification certificates.&nbsp; Where you are on a qualification you will be awarded one of the following qualifications:&nbsp;<p>• EdExcel/Pearson Functional Skills in Mathematics (at the level you are studying)&nbsp;</p><p>or&nbsp;</p><p>• AQA GCSE Mathematics
</p>

What will I be able to do after this course?

On successfully completing and achieving the qualification your teacher will speak to you about progressing up to the next level and other opportunities if you wish to continue in Futher Education/Higher Education or other technical / vocational subjects
